Eos, Another Fingerstyle Lesson for Mountain Dulcimer
By Linda Ratcliff
Eos is an original tune by Steve Eulberg. Eos is the goddess of dawn in Greek mythology, and Steve named this tune Eos because he wrote the tune early in the morning. This tune is played fingerstyle, and the lesson is best suited for intermediate to advanced students.
Here Steve plays through the tune for us.
Look at the free overview of this Fingerstyle Lesson here. Remember that members have ALL the ACCESS to ALL the lessons, ALL the time!

Moderato in C
by Linda Ratcliff
Moderato in C was written by Fernando Sor for classical guitarists.
However, the exercise lends itself very well to the mountain dulcimer in the D-A-d tuning or you can retune your dulcimer to C-G-c to keep the piece in its original key.
Watch the intro and demonstration below:
This tune will make a great warm-up exercise for your routine.

Spotted Pony for Hammered Dulcimer!
by Steve Eulberg
At DulcimerCrossing.com we seem to love riding the ponies because here we are, announcing the new hammered dulcimer lesson for this tune, Spotted Pony.
Steve first learned this from Erin Mae Lewis at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield Kansas (mumble, mumble) years ago! It's stepwise and skipping melodic phrases make it a favorite to us in teaching students to play hammered dulcimer.
Here Steve introduces the tune:
Remember, Members of Dulc…

DulcimerCrossing is excited to announce a brand-new fingertyle lesson for advanced players in the DAC tuning on a standard mountain dulcimer.

This tune was composed by the French com…
Expanding Noter Style
Linda Ratcliff & Steve Eulberg
If you want to play your Appalachian mountain dulcimer in the old traditional style, you will use a noter on the melody string(s), leaving the other 2 strings open to create a drone sound. We have developed several lessons that use a "noter," so we decided to add a new separate category for these at Dulcimer Crossing: Traditional Noter Style.
If you have never used a noter, you should start with our introduction to the Traditional Noter Style here. …
Habits Announcement (Ends 9/30/18)
"Hi, this is Steve Eulberg with another Habit for Your....
....well, it's not exactly a Habit, it's an announcement: For people who are developing their Habits for a Healthy Music Habitat. My patrons, on Patreon, have been able to support me so that I can finish this collection in a digitized fashion. Southern Harmony shape-note tunes arranged for Mountain Dulcimer Trios. And what I'm excited about is they were able to do that, and THAT let's me get to work on the NEXT one, which is shap…
Theatricum Botanicum
While on tour in southern California in August, DulcimerCrossing instructors, Erin Mae Lewis and Steve Eulberg arrived early for their gig, Peter Alsop's Kids Koncerts (Dulcimer-Wellcimer) at the "magical treehouse" of Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum.
Erin took these photos as we prepared for the pre-school kids concert on Sunday morning.
As Erin relates in this highlight video from their recent Concert Window show, Steve was playing this new composition, inspired by the setting, …
